THE STORY OF BBG
Tim Schneider has made a name for himself in the BBQ biz as the "kielbasa guy" on the boat dock at Station Square -- where he cooks at Pittsburgh Steelers home games to hone his BBQ skills and standup comedy routine (a gig at The Funny Bone is in the works).
Tim’s love for grilling kielbassa, hot sausage, and ribs grew into BBG Catering in 2003 when he saw a one-of-a-kind, gigantic, portable grill for sale on eBay. There was only one problem, however -- it was 2000 miles away (near Brownsville, Texas, on the U.S. border with Mexico)...

...Not one to be discouraged, Tim enlisted friends to help with driving and logistics. It proved to be no easy task, transporting a two-ton grill through border security and then halfway up the continent.
Team BigGrill left Pittsburgh late on a blustery January afternoon. After 60 hours, 8 states, a tornadic storm, a flood, several flat tires, two casinos, the big black grill finally arrived safely at its new home in Pittsburgh, ready for its first BBQ season.

BBG had a successful 2003 and a Great 2004- with a steady stream of graduation parties, tailgates, office parties, and countless pig roasts. BBG also cooked at several large festivals. The grill smoked around the clock for 5 days and nights at the Twin Lakes Arts and Heritage festival. To help with the increased demand. Tim went back onto ebay in February of 2005 and bought another 2 ton portable grill. This time he drove to sunny St. Petersburg Florida with his wife, Stephanie. Driving through 2 blizzards, 7 states, 100 deer, (you get the picture...)
